Summary
This dataset consists of the gridded land area fraction used to estimate HadCRU_MLE_v1.2 for each 5° latitude by 5° longitude grid cell of the Earth.

The land area fraction is a derivative product based largely on the OSTIAv2 land mask, but with lakes considered land for areas within the HadISST2 land mask, and was therefore generated using E.U. Copernicus Marine Service Information; https://doi.org/10.48670/moi-00168

The quality of this dataset has been approved by Bruce T. T. Calvert on February 19, 2024. This dataset is a derivative product based largely on the OSTIAv2 land mask, but with lakes considered land for areas within the HadISST2 land mask, so classifies as having a level 3 data processing level. These source datasets have had extensive quality control.
Description
As the source land mask datasets are spatially complete, the calculated land area fractions are spatially complete.
